What Nuance Audio hearing glasses are
Nuance Audio is an air-conduction hearing device built into glasses, compatible with any type of lens. It is made by EssilorLuxottica.
According to the manufacturer, directional microphones and discreet speakers built into the frame amplify sound and reduce background noise. So you can focus on the voices of the people you are talking to.
From the outside they look like ordinary glasses, and the manufacturer states a weight similar to that of an ordinary pair of glasses. No audiogram or prescription is needed. You start from preset configurations that you personalise to suit your needs.
How Nuance Audio hearing glasses work
They are set up with the Nuance Audio App, designed to be easy to use even for people who are not tech-savvy.
In the app you choose front mode, for face-to-face conversations, or 360° mode, to amplify all the sounds around you. Then you choose the most suitable amplification profile, how much background noise you want to hear and the volume.
Once set up, the glasses work even without your phone in your pocket. To charge them, you place them on the charging base, included in the box.
What is the difference between Nuance Audio and Nuance Audio Plus
Nuance Audio Glasses. The first generation, in the Panthos and Square shapes. A single button to switch them on and adjust the volume and, according to the manufacturer, up to 8 hours of battery life with average use.
Nuance Audio Plus. The manufacturer states more powerful amplification and a warmer sound, a larger battery, up to 10 hours with average use, and dedicated buttons for the volume and for changing profile. With an iPhone you answer and end calls with a double tap on the frame. Three shapes, Panthos, Upturn and Square, each in five colours.
You find out which one suits you by wearing them. With the Demo experience you try both, one after the other.
