Children’s eyesight and myopia
In Imperia, a gentle eye test, children’s glasses they actually like, lenses that grow with them.
You see your child leaning in close to their exercise book, squinting at the television, coming home from school with a headache. Sometimes an eye test is all it takes to understand, and a well-chosen pair of glasses to change their days.
Children feel at ease with us. For the youngest we start with a quick, non-invasive check, for older children with a full eye test.

Children’s glasses
Glasses they’re happy to wear

Glasses they like get worn all day. That’s why we choose the frame together with your child, from colours and shapes designed for young people, with brands such as Ray-Ban Junior, Oakley Youth, Vogue Junior, Barbie and Safilo Junior.
With the Programma Junior, when you buy the first pair of anti-reflective lenses, the second pair for a spare pair of glasses is free (same prescription, without anti-reflective coating, ordered together with the first). Then, within 15 months, two new anti-reflective lenses are half price, even if the prescription changes.
Hoya MiYOSMART
How do MiYOSMART lenses work?

Hoya’s MiYOSMART lenses have a clear zone in the centre that corrects myopia and, all around it, many small segments designed to slow down the elongation of the eye. In children the eye grows with the rest of the body and, when it lengthens more than it should, myopia increases.
According to Hoya, in a two-year clinical study they slowed myopia progression by 60% on average compared with standard single vision lenses. For children starting now, from age 4 upwards, Hoya points to the new MiYOSMART iQ.
With the Programma MiYOSMART you get 25% off up to 3 lens renewals for a change of power and 50% off one replacement in case of breakage, scratches or loss.
CooperVision MiSight 1 day
The contact lens for young people

For children who prefer contact lenses there is CooperVision MiSight 1 day, soft daily lenses with ActivControl technology that correct myopia and are designed to control its progression.
According to CooperVision, in a three-year clinical study of children aged 8 to 12 they reduced myopia progression by 59% compared with a standard single vision daily contact lens. According to the manufacturer they are as easy to use as a single vision contact lens.
You can try them free of charge with us. We also assess Ortho-K night lenses, which you’ll find on the page Contact lenses.
Every day
Habits that help
Lenses do their part, but daily life matters too. Hoya recommends at least two hours a day outdoors, regular breaks from screens and close-up homework, and regular eye tests to keep track of how the myopia is developing.
For those who want to do more at home there is the GIVE Program Kit Miopia, exercises in visual training which, according to the manufacturer, can help contain the progression of myopia. We assess case by case whether it is suitable for your child.
